You can set extra fees for your property in the "Additional fees & Protection" section of your Holidu listing. Guests must see all fees before a booking is confirmed, so set your amounts before you publish your availability. This guide explains which fees you can set and how to add them.
What types of additional fees can I set?
You can set the following fees:
- Cleaning fee: A fixed amount for end-of-stay cleaning. Guests pay it at booking through the channel used for the reservation. The host never collects it on-site.
- Security deposit (recommended): A fixed amount that covers potential damage. It is charged before or at check-in and refunded unless damage occurs. For Airbnb bookings, this is handled under Airbnb AirCover.
- Additional guest fee, per night: A charge for each guest above a set number, up to your maximum capacity. This lets you offer lower prices for smaller groups while keeping the whole property available. This fee applies the same way in every season.
- Taxes: Mandatory governmental or regional taxes, such as eco tax, tourism tax, camping tax, or other local taxes. The amount valid on the check-in day applies, even if it changed after the booking. Print the current local regulation and display it at your property.
To size the additional guest fee, divide your nightly price by the minimum occupancy. For example, if your base price is €200 per night for 8 guests, a fee of up to €25 per extra guest per night is a sensible maximum. You can set a lower amount, but higher amounts may reduce your competitiveness.
How do I set additional fees?
- Log in to your Holidu account and select the property you want to edit.
- Go to Configuration, then Additional fees & Protection, and click Edit.
- Enter the fees you want to apply.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
How do I set fees for amenities?
You can also charge extra for amenities such as bikes or e-bikes, electricity, pets, bed linen, towels, beach or pool towels, breakfast, cribs, and high chairs. These are set in the same "Additional fees & Protection" section, under "Amenities with extra fees".
Note: Booking.com automatically charges guests for bed linen, towels, and electricity when you set these fees. Airbnb automatically charges for bed linen and, if configured, the pet fee. Airbnb also enforces your maximum number of pets, so set any pet fee in Holidu.
Which fees can't I set in my Holidu account?
Some fees, such as late check-in, late check-out, or special service charges, cannot be configured in your account. Instead, describe them in your own property description so guests know about them before booking. Learn how to generate your property description.
Keep in mind that, by law and under channel rules, you cannot charge fees based on consumption units such as kWh, litres, or kilograms. All fees must be set per night or per stay.
