Can I delete a review left by a guest?

Hosts cannot delete a guest review directly. A review can only be removed if it breaks the rules of the platform where it was posted, such as containing offensive language, discrimination, privacy violations, or content unrelated to the stay. Honest negative feedback does not qualify for removal. The final decision always rests with the platform.

What types of reviews can be removed?

Reviews may be eligible for removal if they include:

  • Offensive, abusive, or inappropriate language
  • Discrimination or hate speech
  • Personal details, such as phone numbers or addresses
  • Content that is not related to the guest's stay
  • Clearly false or fraudulent statements

Differing opinions, constructive criticism, and low ratings are not grounds for deletion.

How do I request a review removal?

  1. Read the review guidelines of the platform. Helpful resources include the Airbnb review policy, the Booking.com review removal guide, and the VRBO review guidelines.
  2. Check whether the review clearly breaks one of these guidelines.
  3. Save screenshots and notes that document the violation.
  4. Submit your removal request through the platform's review process, including the booking details and a clear explanation of the violation.

What if the review stays online?

If a review cannot be removed, you can still benefit from it. Address the issues raised to improve your property and guest experience. You can also reply to the review professionally, which shows future guests that you value feedback and provide excellent service.
