Guest reviews help future guests choose the right property. This guide explains how reviews work on Holidu, what to expect as a host, and how to manage feedback.

What is the difference between reviewing a guest and replying to a review?

Reviewing a guest means writing feedback about the guest, which is possible on Airbnb and Vrbo. Replying to a review means publicly responding to what a guest wrote about your property, which is possible on Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, and Holidu.

How does the Holidu rating system work?

Guests rate their stay on a scale from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest). The overall property rating is the average of all scores received. Guests can also rate subcategories such as location, cleanliness, description accuracy, and value for money, and they can leave written feedback with more details.

Who can leave a review?

Guests who booked directly through Holidu can leave a review once their stay is completed. Guests who booked through partner channels such as Airbnb, Vrbo, or Booking.com can also leave reviews, but these are managed under each channel's rules. Manual bookings, which are entered by a host or property manager rather than coming through Holidu or a connected channel, cannot receive guest reviews.

Which reviews are displayed on Holidu?

Holidu displays reviews from Holidu guests and from connected channels. Reviews are mainly sorted by booking date, and reviews with written content are prioritized. Negative reviews appear only if the property has at least two reviews. It can take up to 14 days for a guest review to appear.

Where can I see my reviews?

Log in to your Holidu Host account, go to Properties, and open Configuration, then Reviews. Keep in mind that on Holidu the overall score is displayed, and the full review text is only visible for bookings made directly on Holidu.

What content is allowed in guest reviews?

Holidu displays all legitimate positive and negative reviews that follow its standards. Reviews must be truthful, travel-related, helpful to other guests, and written by the guest who stayed. Reviews may not include illegal activity references, politically or religiously sensitive content, promotional material or external links, personal details, profanity, hate speech, threats, sexual content, spam, fake reviews, or impersonation.

How should I respond to a guest review?

Use your reply to give future guests useful context and to thank guests for positive feedback. Keep responses polite and factual. You can learn more in our guide on how to write a review response.

How do I report a review that breaks the guidelines?

If you believe a review violates these guidelines, contact the Holidu Customer Service Team. Our local teams can help you in your language. You can also read whether you can delete a guest review.

Can guests edit or delete their reviews?

The rules depend on the booking channel. On Holidu, reviews cannot be modified. If a guest wants to change their review, the Holidu team must delete it and send the guest a new link. On Booking.com, guests can edit their review from their account until it is automatically deleted after 2 years. On Airbnb, guests can edit a review only before it is published. On Vrbo, guests must contact Vrbo directly to edit or delete a review.

How can I get better reviews?

Focus on accurate listing descriptions, a clean property, and clear communication before and during the stay. Learn more in our guide on how to get good reviews and read why reviews are important.

Important notes

Guest reviews reflect the opinions of guests, not Holidu. Holidu acts as a distributor rather than a publisher and accepts no liability for review content. Some reviews may be automatically translated using DeepL, and neither Holidu nor DeepL guarantees translation accuracy. Hosts and partners may not post reviews on behalf of guests or offer incentives for reviews.
